Disney Cruise Line Adding One More Ship to Fleet

Last year, we were informed that two ships were being added to the DCL fleet. The newest additions are currently being built in Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany. Guests who attended the D23 Parks panel yesterday were surprised with the announcement that a third ship was being built as well!

The first two ships were scheduled to be completed by 2021 and 2023. This additional ship will be finished by 2022. The names of the ship, itineraries and design plans are still being developed at this time and will each have their own unique experiences. The ships will be powered by clean burning liquified natural gas, be about 135,000 tons and have about 1,250 guests staterooms.

We decided two ships wouldn’t be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney,” Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said.
