Disney Files Permits for Ratatouille Ride in Epcot
WDWNT first broke the story of permits officially being filed for a Ratatouille ride in France Pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase.
It has been an old rumor for many years and with rumors heating up that a major Epcot announcement is coming at D23, this one especially has returned and with more evidence.
The permit states that the plans include paving more acres to the current site and build retention ponds on the service road that is near World Showcase. Buildings will be removed and replaced with new ones. According to Diffendal, who broke the story for WDWNT, some parts of the expansion pad that is used for food kiosks during festivals can easily be relocated for the building of this new attraction.
The image below shows that all the empty space where the expansion pads are between France and Morocco, as well as some additional space behind France is within the permit. These expansion pads are there for the addition of a new pavilion, which is rumored to be coming to world showcase. But this does not seem to be the case for this area. According to the permit, the show building would be built on the expansion pad and the queue will go behind the current pavilion for France and connect to the front of the guest area in front of the pavilion.
