Pandora Opens to Massive Crowds
Today is the day many Disney fans have been anticipating!
Pandora: World of Avatar, which was six years in the making, has officially opened to the general public.
According to photos from guests, Fans were lined up outside of the entrance to Animal Kingdom since 6am, anxious to be the very first of the general public to explore the land, ride the attractions, taste the food and of course buy the merchandise.
As the park opened, guests were already informing outsiders that the wait times for everything were, as to be expected, very very long. Both attractions were sporting 200-250 min wait times, the wait to enter Windtraders, the pandora gift shop, boasted an hour and a half wait time and eventually just to enter the park itself was a 300 min wait. By 11am, it was reported that Animal Kingdom was beginning phase closing. This is what is done when the park is beginning to reach capacity. Eventually it did reach phase 3 closing, meaning it reached capacity and no one else could enter Pandora at 7:30-8pm. Disney Resort Guests are allowed to enter at 11pm until closing at 1am but other than that, no one else is allowed entrance today.
Safe to say Pandora:World of Avatar is a success with fans and will be exactly what Animal Kingdom needed to bring in a bigger audience. Sadly, i have seen people already begin to sell opening day pandora merchandise on Ebay.com for outrageous prices so please be weary and buy your merchandise on the disney store site instead.
