Merchandise Revealed for Pandora: World of Avatar
Disney Parks Blog has revealed some of the merchandise that will be sold in “Pandora: World of Avatar” which is opening on May 27th. Casey Jones. Senior Character Artist with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group showed off the stunning merchandise that guests will soon be able to buy.
“The most exciting aspect of my role was partnering with talented and creative individuals at Walt Disney Imagineering and Lightstorm Entertainment. Together, we designed products that complement a visually stunning world filled with floating mountains, bioluminescent plants, and all kinds of immersive adventure.” said Casey
Guests who visit WindTraders, which will be the primary location for merchandise in Pandora, will find products that compliment the land and have several distinct art styles.
Dylan Cole, Co-Production Designer for the upcoming “Avatar” motion picture sequels, captured the bioluminescent world of Pandora at night with two new pieces. One image was inspired by the Na’vi River Journey while the other pictures the beautiful Valley of Mo’ara. In addition to being available as prints, elements from his nighttime artwork were added to apparel, home décor, accessories and other products. More Products can be found on the Countdown to Pandora pin collection that was released this spring.
The cave painting art was based off of sketches by Joe Rohde that he created for the “Flight of Passage” attraction for Pandora. Casey worked with Rohde to finish the sketches and decide which ones would go on select products.
Casey also explored different art styles for the “Shaman of Songs” from the Na’vi River Journey attraction. According to Casey, [The Shaman of Songs] embodies the Na’vi’s connection to nature which is displayed through music and light, so we wanted a graphic that was evocative of those ideas.” A member of the Film production team, Daphne Yap, created digital renderings of Na’vi wearings and banshee totems especially for Walt Disney Imagineering. They will have a hand drawn feel to it and will be featured on select items and apparel.
Lastly, patches were made to represent a different experience each guest will have while visiting Pandora. You can also find special patch designs in the intergalactic passport kit from Alpha Centauri Expeditions. The kit will have a passport, three sticker pages, a button and Photot ID badge. If you decide to buy the kit and the Na’vi Translator device, you will be all set to explore Pandora.
Be sure to buy the final pin from the “Countdown to Pandora” pin collection on May 4th.
