Tiana's Riverboat Party Review
Earlier this month, a friend and I got to experience Tiana's Riverboat party at Magic Kingdom. This recent Disney add on allowed guests to board the Liberty Belle and enjoy ice cream and desserts while enjoying a special VIP viewing of Festival of Fantasy Parade and spending time with the Royal Bayou couple.
We got our reservations the morning of the event, which i don't recommend you ever do, but circumstances came up where we had to do that and were fortunate enough to get reservations. we got ours through guest relations at city hall at park opening but you are able to book the experience online.
We were instructed to arrive to the boat at 2:30pm, 30 mins prior to the parade stepping off. Guests attending the event were asked to line up and several Cast members went down the line with a checklist to make sure all guests were in attendance. Once checked off, you were given a sticker so you could be identified as a party guests and was advised to use the facilities prior to boarding since we would be on the boat for about an hour or two.Once guided onto the boat, guests were given mardi gras beads and led through the line to get their ice cream in which there were 4 different options to choose from.
the tables on board were decorated with mardi gras style decor including masks, gold and green coins and mardi gras beads. Guests are then given a small dessert tray featuring princess and the frog themed treats. As a warning there are no beignets served but they can be bought at Port Orleans French Quarter, my favorite Disney resort.
You have many beverage options to choose from including bottled water, Coke, Diet Coke and Odwalla Lemonade. Once you get your desserts and drinks, you may find a table on deck to enjoy your desserts and there is even a topping bar available for your ice cream.
Check out the treats you can expect when dining.

I drizzled caramel sauce, sprinkles and cookie crumbles on my ice cream and had zero comlaints because ice cream.
The triple chocolate cookie sandwich was very good and adorable with the cute frog on top! The lily pad tart was unexpectedly delicious for me. Took a bit of time to finish but very yummy. The cupcake i was not entirely fond of, which is odd considering it was a normal cupcake. I am assuming after indulging in those flavors in the previous desserts that my taste buds got a bit overwhelmed. Nonetheless its a normal cupcake. In any case, the presentation was adorable and a cute nod to the film.
To the far right of the deck, guests can meet Tiana and Naveen. We never felt rushed to finish our desserts either. We were given ample time and cast members walked around and politely asked if guests had met the royal couple yet, making sure all guests got a chance to meet them and get their photo with them. I love the vibe Tiana and Naveen were giving everyone! Very friendly, excited, interactive and bubbly!
Once you get your photo, you are able to board the boat where you can grab more treats and pick a parade spot.Treats included apple slices, salty and sweet popcorn, soft serve beverages and cotton candy along with ice cream.
As we settled into our parade spots, the boat moved closer to the parade route and much more closer than we thought. Disney took down the trees that were originally blocking the parade views for guests so there really isn't a bad spot to watch and enjoy the parade on the boat. My friend and I had planned on shooting the parade from the boat so my suggestion for shooting spots on the boat would either be from the very front or very back of the top deck of the boat.
Once the parade ends, the boat returns to the dock, picks up Tiana and Naveen, and the boat goes around Tom Sawyer island. They got the party going by leading a mini parade with adorable tambourines with the little ones on board.
Tiana and Naveen were very interactive with everyone, especially the little ones. There were many games played including Hide n Seek, Tiana and Naveen explored every deck more than once so everyone got a chance to see them.
We were onboard the boat until 4pm and honestly it was so much fun that it seemed much longer. Everyone, young and old, was having a wonderful time. The best part for me was watching the interactions between the children, tiana and naveen. And fear not, there are photopass photographers on board to capture all the moments but i would take your own photos as well, especially if you are bringing children.
As guests depart the boat, they have a chance to take a photo with a special party sign and im a sucker for a disney sign.
Overall, this is one of the more reasonable add ons i have seen Disney come up with as of late. It's a wonderful experience for everyone, especially families with small children. Price is reasonable at $50 for adults and $30 for children ages 9 and under.
