Pandora:World of Avatar Opening May 27th
After what seems a lifetime of waiting since the venture was even announced, Pandora: World of Avatar finally has an opening date!
The land in Animal Kingdom will be opening on May 27th, Just two days after Universal Studios Orlando's Newest Water Park, Volcano Bay.
The news broke yesterday at The Walt Disney Company's Quarter 1 FY17 Earnings Call by Chairman and CEO Bob Iger along with the opening date for Star Wars land at Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
In Pandora, guests can experience the visually stunning and natural splendor of the floating mountains and luminescent plants of the world of the James Cameron movie. Take part in two memorable excursions with the Na'vi people.
Take a ride on the Na'vi River Journey! A ride for all ages that will send guests through the bioluminescent Rainforest from the film! The journey ends with a jaw dropping encounter with a Na'vi Shaman who has a deep spiritual connection to Pandora. Below is a sneak peek of the shamna released by Disney Parks Blog back in November.
For more adventurous guests, get ready for Avatar: Flight of Passage!
This ride will give guests to explore the world of Pandora from atop of a Banshee creature from the film!
Dining and Shopping options include Satu'li Canteen, Pongo Pongo where one can grab a drink, and Windtraders for Science kits, Na'vi cultural items and more!
You probably are wondering "Well what about Rivers of Light?", which has been delayed for a while now as it was originally scheduled to open last summer. The rumor is that it will soft open sometime this month so we will see soon enough!
