Paris Holds the Key to Your Heart

In March 2016, I ventured to Paris, France for my first overseas trip ever and it was the absolute best event of the year. With this blog, i love sharing my travels whether it be to the disney parks or just a short road trip. If you followed my adventures last year you got to see me go to Connecticut, New York, new jersey, California, Orlando, Pennsylvania and more!

I am here to help you break out and explore the world just like i did when i went to Paris! So through photos, here are reasons why you should go to Paris.

These two girls, Jess and Anna, helped start off my week in Paris with a fabulous weekend at Disneyland Paris. Yes, there is a Disneyland in Paris. We stayed at one of the many very nice and accommodating hotels on property. We enjoyed a character brunch at the Inventions Restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel where we dined on scrumptious food and met some famous Disney folks in their spring attire. We arrived at a very good time of the year at the parks as they had many spring themed entertainment available for guests daily.

As a disney fan it was great to see a foreign castle and experience a disney park with awesome and different things than what im used to from my home parks. Food was awesome, i highly recommend Phantom Manor if you are a big Haunted mansion fan. Crush coaster is totally wicked! I secretly pray the ratatouille ride comes to EPCOT in the near future but our favorite experience of the weekend was forest of enchantment show. It's amazing!!!! I will say this much. If you happen to travel to Paris, be sure to add Disneyland Paris to your itinerary at least for a day. International Disney Park tickets are much cheaper than the domestic parks. ask how much i paid for my annual pass for the park. under $120 and most of the 20 was tax and shipping and handling to get it to me before my trip.

We continued our week exploring paris by moving to our new hotel in the countryside. Jess had to return to london but me and Anna ventured on.

First stop was Notre Dame Cathedral. Made famous by Victor Hugo's Hunchback of Notre Dame and the Disney Animated film as well as the live action film starring the late Maureen O'Hara. We were so fascinated by the streets of paris and its architecture. Also its good to note, the subway is your friend in Paris. be sure to have maps on hand as we learned them fairly quickly by the 2nd day and how to navigate through the city.

Eventually we make it to Notre Dame and although we were not able to go to the top and see the city, we did get to explore the inside and it was stunning! I am not a very religious person but the inside was just so overwhelmingly beautiful that i was emotional. Inside people are able to light candles and say a prayer for a loved one. i did one for my grandmother.

It was free to enter the cathedral and they still do mass today. However it is in french and we didn't have time to return to attend one.

Later in the week we had to visit the famous Eiffel Tower! Ticket scan be bought online to go to certain levels of the tower and i bought ours to go to the very top! if you are a student take advantage of the student discounts when traveling overseas, you save a bundle. We had to take two elevators to get to the very top and it was worth it. seeing all of the city from the highest point. it was breathtaking.

The elevator

Honestly looking at it from the bottom is very intimidating.

Sadly we picked the only day out of the week that the Louvre is closed so we could not go in but we got to enjoy the park across the way from it.

Oh and btw, the food in paris is literally the absolute best food i have had so far in my lifetime. I have to suggest this amazing italian place. I know but trust me. it's worth visiting. service was amazing with food to match!

We visited many other places in Paris in which it is famous for, but to keep this post short i have to share my favorite place that we visited.

Versailles.

For those not into history, Versailles was a royal hunting lodge that was expanded into a grand palace for the kings of Paris and as home to Marie Antoinette. Being a huge history buff, being able to walk and see where nobles and royals once laid their heads was astounding. The gardens were huge and neverending and beautiful. The artwork, regal to say the least. But the entrance alone gives you an idea of how much was put into the place. here are just a few of my favorite photos of the palace including marie antoinette's mini palace as they called it and the hall of mirrors.

On our last night, we decided to get starbucks and relax. It just HAPPENED to be across from this place. You may have heard of it.

My biggest piece of advice when coming here is to learn the basics of the language, budget like crazy and have an itinerary.

But ultimately i can tell my children that i went to Paris before i was 25 years old.
