Disneyland Day 1

The day had arrived!

We slowly but surely got dressed and made our way to the park!

Fortunately, our hotel was literally across the street from Downtown Disney District so the walk was very short.

We each had a special group outfit day in honor of our first day. Flannels decorated with the symbols of a few Disney princesses.

We made quite a few impressions with guests and cast members that day.

My choice was obvious of course.

we first stepped into the entrance and saw snow white, a favorite of my friend erin so we made our way into her line and it was adorable of course. Stepping into the park some of us split off. as it was two of our group's first visit they went off to get special shots. Me and colorina strolled about main street and got in line for a few of the character's who were out greeting. it was minnie, goofy, mickey and pretty much the fab five out meeting in their diamond celebration gear. we saw cruella too but she slipped away from us.

We went to minnie first and as always she was delightful!

I immediately fell in love with the diamond celebration outfits! just majorly dazzling! i even got a special selfie including carlos, minnie's special attendant!

Then i spotted goofy and immediately called my friend sam who said she really wanted to meet him in his diamond celebration outfit. he was going in and would be out shortly so until then we all regrouped and met the big man!

Then Goofy came out and walked with sam and it was such an adorable and special moment!

We moved up main street and it was such a beautiful experience. Main street is my absolute favorite place at any disney park but out of all the disney parks i have visited so far, the original is my favorite.

Ii was hunting for a specific window but found this treasure instead

Our first goal was to get fastpasses for Hyperspace Mountain, a Star Wars overlay on Space Mountain, and Indiana Jones. We went to Tomorrowland and got the hyperspace fastpasses and got very excited as we are big star wars fans!

We made our way to meet the princesses and we ran into the line for Rapunzel and Flynn which was a must for sam. I got my first disneyland AP instagrammer sighting while in line haha. Rapunzel and Flynn were interesting and funny! We had a small confrontation with the family behind us as a few of us went to get water while sam and i held the line. I left for a moment as well to get sam and i water. It was very hot that day so we need to stay hydrated. as we got closer most of us had returned and the man behind us was upset that we all got in line. most of us were just taking pictures for sam and not even with rapunzel and flynn but we just ignored the man's grumblings.

Sam and the baes

We found the clopin music box along with some funny nods to Disney characters and movies throughout the area.

eventually we got inside to meet the princesses!

We met Cinderella, Ariel and Snow white again!

"She's got legs!!!!"
i really loved the detail in the building where you meet the princesses. Oddly enough, we hadn't seen aurora yet but we did eventually as we saw her leaving snow white's wishing well and didn't see her after that the entire trip.

We made our way into Adventureland and immediately found Aladdin and Jasmine. In line i had an encounter with a rude guest but i left it alone. Aladdin and Jasmine were funny as heck and very charming and adorable!

Afterwards we stopped and made our way to Indiana Jones to get our fastpasses. As i got mine i noticed a button and it was a Honorary citizen of Disneyland button! I couldn't believe someone had left it so i took it haha

We came upon Ttarzan's treehouse and decided to explore it! The views from the top were very lovely and breathtaking.

Special nod to Beauty and the Beast

Next we headed to Pirates of the Caribbean, which i personally feel has the best version at Disneyland, at least until i head to shanghai.

Captain Jack Sparrow

Eventually i made my way to the riverboat because i was anxious to meet princess tiana and i literally ran to the boat when i saw her as she was all alone.

She was very kind and sweet as always when i meet her! I was the last of the girls to meet their flannel counterpart which i didn't even mind tbh because i love new orleans square. it's my favorite place right after main street. Walt loved it. I have family roots in new orleans. my favorite disney princess is from new orleans and it just always gives me a sense of home, as main street does.

We moved onto Big thunder mountain railroad but as soon as we got in line we were led back to the entrance as the ride was down. We did manage to ride it and i got a few pictures of the queue.

It was then time to ride hyperspace mountain and it did not disappoint in any way, shape or form. it was perfect and every star wars fan should ride it in my opinion.

I stopped and met up with with Kylo ren despite past meetings haha.  As always it was awkward.

Next we headed to toontown! My last trip we hadn't spent too much time in toontown so i was very excited to be able to explore it more.

We rode Roger Rabbit's car toon spin and well, we were so confused by the plot of the ride that we had to look it up.

Entrance to the silliest place on earth

The details of toontown were whimsical and very cute! I could live here haha.

Cute license plates in the Roger Rabbit ride

The infamous Jessica Rabbit

The ride was wild and interesting to say the least.

We headed over to the spooky house and came face to face with the hatbox ghost.

The hatbox ghost was by far the highlight of the ride! And i really appreciate the detail of the attraction as well!

While some of the squad headed over to see the show at fantasy faire, me and colorina checked out the trains at the New Orleans Square station. The trains are currently not in operation due to construction of Star Wars land but guests are able to check out the trains and speak to the conductors and engineers. We had a chance to speak to Ryan, an awesome and passionate conductor who told us about the history of the trains, his history with disney and its connection with disney.

We were told this beauty was almost 100 years old and some of the trains in the park are older than Disneyland itself!

It was such a pleasure to take time from the hustle and bustle of the day to relax and talk about a big part of Disneyland history so thanks ryan!

Next up was Mickey and the Magical Map which is truly an amazing production! sadly it was only performing once or twice during our trip so we had to make the most of it! Here are a few shots from the show!

I took a quick trip to toontown to explore a bit more. i  trespassed into minnie's home as she was out running errands but mickey was home and his house was really neat! take a look at their cribs, MTV!

Onto Mickey's House!

Mickey was majorly excited to see me! I complimented him of his acting work and how dapper he looked and took some very cute pictures!

Upon meeting up with the squad and exiting toontown, we stopped to ride small world and it was majorly more adorable than its WDW counterpart tbh. Not the best photos but in Disneyland's version you find some familiar faces including alice, peter pan, cindy and more!

Then it came time for the moment i had been waiting for. To see if "Paint the Night" parade was worth the hype. and god was it. I fell in love so hard i watched it every night, except one because i was just ridiculously tired from the day, that i was there for the trip!

Anna was busy with Kristoff that night

ALL HAIL MICKEY MOUSE!
And shout out to the photopass photographer who didn't mind when i screamed "IT'S THE SIGN!" at her and proceeded to take a photo with the PTN sign haha. This becomes a trend daily during the trip! but thus ends day 1 of Disneyland !

Off to DCA!
