Downtown Disney District Recap
Our first day in California we were originally going to explore LA but we were way too tired and it was way too far of a drive from where we were staying.
Our first introduction to Disneyland at LAX was this lovely frozen sign which my friend Carrie was unamused by haha.
Once we got settled we hunted for the legendary "In n Out" eatery which i have missed since my first journey to LA two years ago.
Afterwards some of the group had to get ready for their trip to medieval times. I decided to skip it because i can go anytime as there is one 30 mins away from me and my other friend colorina decided to skip it too. So while the girls went back in time, we decided to explore downtown disney district where we mainly played pokemonGO.
Our catch of the day that day was a hitmonlee!
Downtown disney district was very cute but compared to Disney Springs very small btu i liked that it felt intimate. We also checked out all of the resorts which were pretty much in proximity of DTD district. We stopped by the Grand Californian which was beautiful and we got a peek at someone taking their wedding photos and the bride looked absolutely stunning. We took the DTD district entrance into this hotel. It was literally a rustic version of the Grand Floridian which i really liked alot.
We cut through Paradise Pier hotel to get to DTD district.
There was a familiar face to greet us at the entrance.
Finally, we ventured into the Disneyland hotel and checked out each themed tower: Fantasy, Adventure and Frontier.
Frontier was my favorite because they had a huge model of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction. I didn't take photos but if you were keeping up with my snapchat then you saw all its glory.
We visited the Fantasy tower and i felt that this photo was majorly important out of the wall of celebs to visit Disney. It included Dolly Parton, Ronald Reagan and more but this one spoke to me the most.
The adventure tower was pretty well themed the most in my opinion and i appreciated the Jjungle Cruise concept art plastered all over the lobby.
And we witnessed about two more weddings in two different sections of the hotel. We got chastised by a cast member for walking on the grass to avoid being in the wedding party's photos. She seemed more concerned about the grass tbh but whatever.
In the Fantasy tower we also discovered this cool interactive map of Disneyland for the diamond celebration in the lobby.
And we got our practice in for the teacups by taking a spin in these cute mad tea party cup chairs.
Like i said we mainly played pokemonGO but we really enjoyed exploring all the shops and boutiques in Downtown Disney District. It was nice to see stores from back when Disney Springs was Downtown Disney at Disney world. There was a wide variety of eateries with different types of cuisine to choose from as well. I love that you can board the monorail into Disneyland from DTD district as too.
Overall, i would enjoy visiting DTD district even if i wasn't going to Disneyland.
Be sure to check out the Disneyland Day 1 Recap coming soon!
