ICYMI: Guardians of the Galaxy attraction Coming to DCA Summer 2017
So last night, Distwitter waited with baited breath to find out if the rumors were true. The rumors have been swirling all over the place. They started at DCA and recently moved to EPCOT but it was confirmed last night during the Marvel panel at San Diego comic con and then by DisneyParks Blog

That's because where the ride is going is Disney's California Adventure version of Tower of Terror.
They reported that Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at DCA will have its last day in January 2017 and the Guardians ride will open summer 2017. Now a few months back when the rumors began i was told by a reliable source that it was true. I was told they already had costumes and that imagineers were in the attraction late evening and early mornings scoping it out. of course i had to keep it under wraps and i initially didn't believe it myself.
Announcement included Joe Rohde explaining more about what the attraction will entail.
Joe Rohde is renowned and beloved among disney fans as he was the lead designer for Animal Kingdom and Aulani. Rohde was around in 1980 during the development of EPCOT.
The story behind the attraction is as described by disneypark blog :
Deep inside his fortress-like collection, the mysterious Taneleer Tivan (aka The Collector) is displaying his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. They are trapped in customized display cases, suspended over a vast abyss. Unbeknownst to their unscrupulous captor, the intrepid Rocket has escaped and is enlisting the Collector’s VIP guests for help. Guests board a gantry lift, which launches them into a chaotic and hilarious adventure as they join Rocket in an attempt to break his fellow Guardians out of captivity.
Guests will experience a free fall sensation ride with new audio and visual effects and will experience multiple random, unique ride profiles in which the rise and fall of the gantry lift will rock to the beat of music inspired by the film’s popular soundtrack.
Disney has said they will have announcements where they will give guests a chance to celebrate tower of terror at DCA before it closes.
The most important fact of all is that disney stated that this attraction will anchor a broader universe of super heroes that will grow over time at Disney California Adventure. In other words, this is only the beginning.
