Costumes for Autumn Trolley Show

Fall at Disney World is so great! They deck it out with all sorts of cool halloween decorations, trolley show becomes autumn themed and the best part is MICKEY'S NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY!

I have been attending almost every year on my birthday since 2013 which is the perfect present to me!

And now is the perfect time to go over why you should attend at halloween party night and the basics!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or for the sake of this article MNSSHP, is a halloween themed party that happens on select nights at Magic Kingdom from September 2nd to October 31st. Guests are allowed to dress up and enjoy special party offerings and entertainment from 7pm- Midnight. Although party guests are allowed to enter at 4pm the party doesn't officially start until 7pm. Once it strikes 7pm, if you do not have a party wristband then you will be ushered out of Magic kingdom by cast members.

Another change is costume guidelines which have caused a bit of confusion for guests since announced :

"While costumed attire may be worn, guests ages 14 and older are strongly discouraged from wearing layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body as they may be subject to additional security screening. Additionally, costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

My advice for costumes? it is humid in september until it gets dark so try to avoid heavy costumes. My costume for last year involved a turtleneck sweater and i was absolutely dying during the day

As far as weather, the party will go on rain or shine.

Now you're probably like" well what do you do at the party???"

First off, the kids will love the trick or treating because i love the trick or treating. All around Magic kingdom will be cast members with trick or treat stations giving out candy to guests and you can go in line as often as you want! You are given a bag at the gate BUT i prefer to bring my own bag. My advice? go later in the night to avoid long lines and carrying a heavy bag of candy all day. plus you'll probably get alot more since they gotta get rid of it anyway.

The following are the locations to go trick or treating but i will update if there are changes:

  • Adventureland
    • Jungle Cruise
    • Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room
    • Pirates of the Caribbean queue
  • Frontierland
    • Splash Mountain
    • Dock to Tom Sawyer Island
  • Liberty Square
    • Liberty Square Riverboat
  • Fantasyland
    • Peter Pan's Flight
    • Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid
    • Fantasyland Treat Trail
    • Pete's Silly Sideshow
  • Tomorrowland
    • Tomorrowland Speedway
    • Space Mountain
    • Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
    • Stitch's Great Escape!

Next is the Parade where the music is constantly stuck in my head all year round! the BOO TO YOU PARADE! Lawd! this is honestly my favorite disney parade in any park anywhere. Characters you love dressed up in halloween costumes and ugh! i can't describe it just watch this video and be amazed! My favorites are the ballroom dancers!

The parade goes twice a night, first at 8:35pm and 11:15pm starting at Frontierland near spalsh mountain. Personally i see both because im obsessed but the second parade is usually less crowded. and as a special treat the headless horseman leads the parade!

They aren't the best but here are some of my personal photos and vid of the parade.

Then we have Celebrate the Magic- Disney Villains Halloween Edition. It's a projection show on the castle that normally takes place before wishes fireworks show but themed for the halloween party.

Take a look !

AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! DO NOT, I REPEAT , DO NOT MISS THE HOCUS POCUS SPELLTACULAR SHOW! I BEG YOU!

This show debuted last year and was a big hit! the Sanderson sisters from the hit movie "Hocus Pocus" return on Halloween night. With only a few hours they decide to run amuck and create the best halloween party ever with the help of some popular disney villains!

Just watch and you will see what i mean!

Showtimes are 8pm, 9:20pm, 9:20, 10:40 and Midnight!  Every show is usually crowded so if you want a good spot get there early as you can or try the last show if you wanna risk it.

You get Hallowishes as your fireworks entertainment for the evening and is at 10pm. Personally one of my favorite fireworks finales yet i never find a good spot to watch. Thanks to WDW Prep School, i can give you that advice!

Characters have always been tricky with the halloween party as sometimes Disney occasionally skimps on the amount of villains available but i enjoyed all the meets. Last year, these characters that were exclusive to the party via WDW Prep School.

  • Jack Skellington and Sally (in the Storybook Circus area)
  • the Seven Dwarfs (in Fantasyland)
  • several villains (including Jafar and Cruella De Vil)
  • princesses (including the princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall who will meet just like they always do, including Anna and Elsa)
  • Queen of Hearts (near Mad Tea Party)
  • Gaston (outside Gaston’s Tavern)
  • Lotso (in Tomorrowland)
Not available to meet in 2015: the Evil Queen and Maleficent.
Some awesome benefits of attending the Halloween party exclusive merch! last year they had really cool magic bands and merch for the hocus pocus show including shirts, pins and more! Food offerings like cupcakes were available too!
Shorter waits for rides are a plus but there are no fastpass+ reservations for party nights and most rides are open but not all. Haunted Mansion is a must do just to see the butlers and Maids in their extra spooky costumes just for the halloween parties.
You get the chance to get cool extra magic shotsthat you can only get for the halloween party! One includes a photo with the hitchhiking ghosts! I have one but its terrible so i don't wanna share it haha.
They also give away special Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom cards that are just for the parties that you can get at the firehouse.
If you want to make your night extra spooktacular you can opt for the Halloween Dessert Party package ! Details here!
When a map is available i can add it to the post in the future!
Personally i think the Halloween party is loads of fun for the whole family and should go at least once!
Foxy had a great time last year! You will too!
