Disney World Changing how Guests Charge up at Parks

Disney will begin adding FuelRod charging kiosks at Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs and ESPN Wide World of Sports starting July 1-2nd.

The kiosks will dispense charging batteries for $30 and will include

  • A portable charging battery
  • 6″ USB Type A to micro-USB cable (for most Android devices)
  • One Apple 30-pin to USB cable
  • One Apple Lightning to USB cable
Keep in mind that these are not rentals. once purchased these will belong to the guests.

According to WDWNT, the kiosks will be at the following locations :

  • Magic Kingdom
    • Tomorrowland Light and Power Co.
    • Big Top Souvenirs
    • Pecos Bill’s
    • Curtain Call Collectibles
  • Epcot
    • Disney Traders
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
    • Celebrity 5 & 10
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom
    • Island Mercantile
  • Disney Springs
    • Marketplace Disney Photo Imaging
    • DisneyQuest
  • ESPN Wide World of Sports
    • ESPN Clubhouse Shop
also, dead batteries can be swapped for new ones at the kiosks and at no extra cost, meaning guests never actually have to charge the batteries themselves. However guests can choose to charge their own batteries with the cable included.

Personally for someone like me this is a blessing!
