Disney World Challenge : Meet all the Disney Princesses!

Now if you have more than a day or two to complete this then thank goodness!

If you only have a day, i can say that it is doable because i have done it before but it takes dedication, very good timing and planning. Its a bit more difficult if you have little ones so keep this in mind when reading this. I will also update this as there are two new princesses coming later this year.

I am going to start with the most popular, which obviously is Anna and Elsa.

This one is a bit tricky since they are moving homes from Magic Kingdom to EPCOT this month. Literally your safest bet, especially if you have little ones dying to meet them, is to get fastpasses. They currently meet at Princess Fairytale Hall until June 16th. the Frozen Ever After attraction in Norway at EPCOT and their Royal Summerhus opens June 21st and this is where they will meet. I highly suggest fastpasses if you can snag one. Otherwise prepare to wait at least 2 hrs or even more to meet them. Your safest bet without fastpasses is to rope drop which basically means to get there before park open and rush over to the location once cast members let guests in. During their early years when they were way more popular than now , a group of friends and I rope dropped for them. Two of us rushed over to the meet and greet when they were still meeting in Norway and the rest grabbed breakfast for everyone, by the time we ran over there it was already a 2 hr wait. With the new attractions expecting to be very popular i would expect this to happen. I cannot stress enough GET FASTPASSES IF YOU CAN! Fortunately if you meet them when their new location opens you will possibly be getting photos with the girls together unlike at PFTH where you get photos with them separately. Also they will be meeting guests in their normal outfits like in the photo above.

Merida is the same as Anna and Elsa in a way.

You can only meet Merida in one place which is in Fairytale Garden on the right hand side of the castle. Don't wanna wait in line for 30 mins to an hr? Best thing to do is rope drop for her. get to the park first thing and go straight to her. Her meet usually ends around 6-6:30pm so going in the morning is the best way to go. plus her spot lacks shade so going in the morning saves you the sun beating on your body. She is worth the wait nonetheless!

Rapunzel is simple enough. She only meets at Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom. She will soon be meeting with Tiana in the same room but your best bet is booking a fastpass. Otherwise ropedrop her if she is priority. She is still a fairly popular princess so keep this in consideration but she is usually there til 30 mins before park close so there isn't too much of a rush.

Next is Tiana. She is also very popular and will be meeting at her regular bayou spot behind the christmas shoppe in liberty square until June 17th when she moves into PFTH. Once there, your best bet will be to book a fastpass for her as well. she will be meeting with punzie so you kill two birds with one stone when booking for either one.

Mulan only meets in China Pavilion at World Showcase in EPCOT and one other place (by now you should be noticing the pattern that the princesses tend to only meet in one spot, except special circumstances which we will see later on).

But you are in for a treat as Mulan recently got a wardrobe makeover!

Depending on weather determines where to find her and she meets several times a day. If hot or rainy, she will be near the temple. If normal weather, she will be at the front of the pavilion or around the area so keep an eye out. Last time i met her back in November 2015 she met near the entrance of the gardens.

Another thing you could try is Akershus Royal Banquet Hall where you could meet several princesses but its not guaranteed she will be there. I will explain character dining in tips and strategies later on.

Pocahontas also got a makeover too!

Old Outift
New outfit
Pocahontas can only be met at Animal Kingdom on Discovery Island. Her entrance to her greet is to the right of the entrance to Dinoland. Its easy to find so just go straight to the dinoland sign and go to the right side of it. No fastpass for her or mulan actually.

Princess Jasmine can be met in several different locations fortunately enough! finally a princess with multiple locations haha! Slightly bad news is that there is no fastpass to meet her. The good news is chances are you get aladdin too with her depending on which location you go to!

You can go to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom, they meet right across from Magic Carpets. I would get there at least 20-25 mins before there meet and greet time. You can go to Morocco Pavilion at World Showcase in EPCOT in a small back room within the pavilion. the line usually builds quickly so get there at least 20 mins before the meet and greet time. Finally, you can see her at character dining locations at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Bamquet Hall but its not guaranteed. With Jasmine having more than one park spot she is a easy princess to check off the  princess list.

Me and my friends (L-R) Colorina, Holly, Ryan, my sister Sydney,  & Colorina's Sister Coco

Belle is another princess with multiple locations and what's great about her is that if you have time you can meet her in her village outfit and her yellow ballgown if you play your cards right. Belle meets in her ballgown at Enchanted Takes with Belle in Magic Kingdom. Best way to get a photo is have one or more family members get picked to be a part of the show or volunteer for a part. If you want the whole family in the photo, ask the photopass photographer quickly if its okay or belle herself. Usually they are okay with it but it depends sometimes. You can more than likely get solo and group shots if you have at least 2 members of your party in the show.

Her other location is in France at World Showcase. Her meet there starts at 11am and usually has a very long line so i would get to her location near the water at least 20 mins before her time starts. You could be waiting up to an hour. She can also be found at Akershus and can be guaranteed to be there.

Ariel is a bit tricky depending on what form you want to meet her in. If you don't wanna spend more money than you have to, then you can find her at her grotto in Fantasyland. It is right next to her attraction. I would get a fastpass for her to be safe because depending on the season or even the day her line can be anywhere between 15 mins to and hour or longer. She only meets in her mermaid form in the grotto. But fortunately her meet and greet is completely covered and shady. Lighting is pretty bad in the grotto so keep that in mind. You can see her at Cinderella's Royal Table or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall as well if you wish to meet her on her human legs but it's gonna cost you.

Princess Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty has been getting the short end of the stick with meet and greet locations since her eviction from PFTH a year or so ago with Snow White. Fortunately this will all change on June 17th as she will be returning the the hall and will be meeting with Cinderella so you can kill two birds with one stone here by booking a fastpass for either. Until then she meets at her greet right next to City Hall when you first enter Magic Kingdom. at least with her being in PFTH now you can simply get a fastpass.

Cinderella is simple enough. Your best bet? you guessed it, fastpass her royal butt haha. No but really as she is the one of the most popular this would be the smartest move. otherwise you can rope drop. She will be meeting at PFTH with Aurora starting June 17th but this is her only park spot to meet her. If you are willing to shell out extra cash then you're in luck! You can meet her at Cinderella's Royal Table obviously haha, at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall or at 1900 Park Fare for Dinner at the Grand Floridian. The bonus of doing 1900 Park Fare is that you get to meet Prince Charming and Cindy's Stepfamily.

Finally we come to the lovely Snow White! She has multiple park spots thank goodness! She is usually meeting guests at the exit of Town Square theater or the entrance of the gift shop near the garden at Magic Kingdom. I would line up about 10-15 mins to see her as her line isn't usually terribly long as her greet is a bit hidden. Her greet could move next to City Hall after Aurora moves to PFTH so i will update as information comes in. She can also be met at Germany Pavilion in EPCOT right by her wishing well. Opposite of her location at MK, her greet is popular at EPCOT so get there 20 mins before her greet starts. No fastpass for these greets.

If you are willing to pay you can see her at Cinderella's Royal Table or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

TIPS AND STRATEGIES

Since i visit quite often to WDW i usually can be found character hunting and have gotten rather good at it so here are some tips to make the hunt easier and fun!

  • If they have a fastpass, book it! Seriously Fastpass+ will be your savior and will knock at least 8 princesses off your list. You can book fastpasses for the following princesses: Anna, Elsa, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel and Tiana. Anna and Elsa will be together so that's already two. Cindy and Aurora will be together so book for cinderella and visiting princess and you are good. Ariel meets at her grotto. Punzie and Tiana will be together so book Rapunzel with visiting princess. Book enchanted tales with belle for Belle and be sure to volunteer for the show.
  • Prioritize your princess list. In order from most important to least, who do you want to see the most? once your list is complete you can go from there and create a strategy. Doing this makes everything easier
  • Check meet and greet times prior to arrival.
  • Keep in mind which princesses have more options for greets.
  • Hydrate and slow down. Its okay to want to get all the princesses done but be sure to make sure you take a break in between each greet. If with a group switch out and have someone get bottled water or snacks.
  • try to arrive to each greet at least 15-20 mins prior start time
  • if with little ones have them dress as their favorite princess
  • if you have autograph books have them open to the page they want signed and pen, pencil, marker whatever ready. this will make your greet go more slowly if you are prepared.
  • Have all cameras ready before your turn in line
  • If character attendant says the character will be returning shortly DO NOT SPAZZ OUT. they will come back! This is why you plan it out. You dont want to make the last meet and greet set and miss out on the character do you?
  • Have something to talk about. Usually the character will lead the conversation but try to keep it going. ask them a question about their story or what they are doing now that their adventure is over.
  • Make a fun pose! I love doing silly and fun poses with characters and it makes the greet fun! There have been times i pretended to be a waiter at Tiana's restaurant with Tiana and Naveen or fell asleep with Aurora. I showed off my footwear with Cindy or even shot arrows with Merida! Get creative! it makes for great shots!
  • If your child is shy, do not force them to go near the character. If it helps you can get near the character and it may encourage the child to come over too.
  • If you want to get most of the princesses and willing to pay, book at Cinderella's Royal Table or Ahershus Royak Banquet Hall.
  • Akershus is in the same pavilion as Anna and Elsa's attraction and meet and greet so if you book for breakfast you can align a fastpass for them after your reservation or go straight to the line after breakfast is over
  • Utilize magic hours if you don't have fastpasses.  PFTH lines are usually shorter during magic hours.
  • Visit PFTH during the fireworks. Short wait times occasionally since most people are watching the show.
  • Utilize your numbers. If you are in a group and a member doesn't mind, have them wait in line for your next greet while you take care of the kids for restroom breaks, snack time, etc.

Example Strategy

So the way i usually do my Princess character hunt is that i make a list of order of importance, get locations, times , fastpasses and go from there. Note that this strategy is for more than one day within a trip to WDW.

For example, my list in order would be

  • Tiana
  • Merida
  • Aurora
  • Snow White
  • Mulan
  • Pocahontas
  • Rapunzel
  • Jasmine
  • Belle
  • Ariel
  • Cinderella
  • Anna
  • Elsa
Now i would take into consideration several things. what park i will be attending that day, locations times, fastpass availability.

Most of these characters you can meet at MK and with a fastpass so i would book mid morning to afternoon fastpasses at MK for Cindy who will be with Aurora, Rapunzel who will be with Tiana, and Ariel at the grotto. I usually do rope drop or go early in the morning to MK so i can relax a bit before meet and greets without fastpasses begin. You can go right to Snow White's greet since its at the entrance and knock her off the list as her line usually isnt long. The thing with belle is if you head to enchanted tales with belle right at rope drop you can get her knocked out before your princess fastpasses begin. Ariel is in fantasyland with belle so i can head right around the corner technically and just get in line and wait. If you don't wanna risk it fastpass her for the afternoon. Then i can head right over to Merida before her line gets terribly long. That's Three princesses already knocked out probably before 10:30am. Jasmine in my opinion is better to meet at MK because the line could be shorter and you can still meet aladdin or even maybe another character from the movie whereas at epcot you only get aladdin with her. I like variety. That's five now. If you book afternoon fastpasses for the PFTH princesses this gives you time to ride some rides, take in a show or whatever you want. By this time you can head over to the hall and bam! 4 princesses! Count it! that's 9 princesses in one park in one day! But if you are a family this may not be as easy so keep in mind im a solo traveler and account for extra time when traveling with little ones.

The next day i would make a plan to visit the rest of the princesses at EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. Since im an early riser and greets at EPCOT go til the afternoon i would head to opening of Animal Kingdom and get pocahontas out of the way since this is the only place you can meet her and the line gets long quick. After enjoying Animal Kingdom, i would head to EPCOT and hopefully i got that fastpass for Anna and Elsa haha! Make that the first priority at EPCOT. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A FASTPASSES FOR ANNA AND ELSA DISREGARD GOING TO ANIMAL KINGDOM FIRST GO STRAIGHT TO EPCOT AT ROPE DROP AND HEAD STRAIGHT FOR NORWAY PAVILION IN WORLD SHOWCASE. To make it easier on yourself go to Disneyworld.com and look at an EPCOT map so you arent't wandering aimlessly trying to find the spot and losing time. Once Anna and Elsa are done i can go meet mulan at China which is on the way. Heck if you're feeling bold you can go right from China to France and meet Belle in her village outfit.

So in short if you research and time it all right then you can meet all the princesses in 2 days. Only got One day to do it all? Look out for my future post on how to do it!

Because im such a good person i already have a few sources for you that will help make this easier for you.
